Bexley Residence is a whole-home renovation and addition. The project enlarges the kitchen & dining on the first floor, adds a primary suite to the second, and a home office in the third floor attic. The front of the home remains unchanged, while in the rear, vertical metal panels enclose the existing stacked porches to become additional interior space while preserving the home’s profile and clearly distinguishing between old and new. Expansive glazing connects the dining area with the back deck which is wrapped with built-in seating. The interiors are fully refreshed including a new kitchen, updated flooring, wall finishes, and custom millwork throughout. The design features a wood frame that wraps over the kitchen island and loosely defines vestibule for the back door.
